CamSIS

Note that the change below was removed on 16th February 2021 whilst we investigate how to ensure that Raven4Life alumni are not adversely affected.

From the 9th February 2021 you will notice some small changes around how you sign in and out of CamSIS. This is so we can take advantage of the latest Raven functionality, future-proofing our sign-in for years to come, and helping to standardise the way that University systems are authenticated to.

What does this change mean for me?

You will continue to be able to sign in to CamSIS, as usual, using Raven via the CamSIS website or your own bookmarks. The change only affects users using Raven with their CRSid - e.g. administrators, academics and current students.

A major advantage of the change is that other University websites or systems that use the same authentication will be able to log you in seamlessly because you will have already authenticated to CamSIS – and vice-versa.

All other sign-in options remain unaffected.

What does the change look like?

  • Once you have entered your CRSid and password, you will see a new "Raven attributes release" page - much the same as if you were logging into some other University systems or websites (such as Lookup)
  • You will have the option to allow your attributes (i.e. your log in details) to be released to CamSIS in one of two ways:
    • Just for this login
    • All logins for the next year, or until your attributes change
  • Once you have selected your option and clicked "Accept" you will then be signed in to CamSIS as normal

An example of an attributes release page is shown below:

If you select the second option, you will not be prompted for this each time you sign in to CamSIS in the future - at least until a year passes or any of your details change. Please consider any implications this may have for you if you use shared computer resources.

In addition to the sign-in steps change, you may notice that we have also redesigned our sign-out and error pages; an example of which is shown below:

If you have any issues with logging in to CamSIS after this change, please contact the CamSIS Helpdesk.
