Terms and conditions of use
CamSIS is the University's system for handling student information, records and transactions. As the official repository of a student’s record from application all the way through to graduation, it is used by staff, students and alumni to manage and extract student data.
Agreement
By indicating acceptance of these Terms and Conditions you confirm that:
- You have read, understood and agree to be bound by the following policies and procedures:
- You understand that data is disclosed only for University or College business.
- You understand that data is to be used only for the the specific role(s) for which you have been granted access.
- You will ensure that any data accessed and stored outside of CamSIS is done so securely according to Section F of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) ('Keeping data safe and confidential')
- You will not disclose any CamSIS data to anyone else unless you are satisifed they have authority to access it for legitimate University or College business.
- You will report any potential or confirmed data breaches according to the guidelines as detailed in Personal data breaches.
- You will notify your organisation's approvers and the Student Registry if you request or hold a staff CamSIS account whilst also enrolled as an active student.
If you do not agree to these Terms, then you must not use this system.
Support
Application support is provided centrally by the UIS Student Systems team. Where data has been downloaded and made available outside of the CamSIS system without our involvement (for example, through using our reports, the Outbound Interface (OBI) or our APIs and published via local IT systems) then support for these systems is provided by local IT managers and other service providers.
Maintenance
The Student Systems team regularly make changes to CamSIS to improve its security, stability and to introduce new features. This is in addition to fixing bugs and processing small change requests as part of our live support function. The UIS Change Approval Board authorises our maintenance periods, which are announced via our email list and implemented during downtime at designated vulnerable periods.
